Manufacturing Scheduling and Optimization (MSO)¶
Overview¶
IFS.ai Manufacturing Schedule Optimization (MSO) is a finite scheduling solution using intelligent optimization algorithms to create feasible and optimized production schedules in constraint-based manufacturing environments. Rather than relying on traditional rule-based scheduling methods, MSO creates finite production schedules based on overall optimization of a scheduling score. It considers availability in critical finite resources, and ensure those are not overloaded.
Instead of creating production schedules manually, a process that can be time-consuming and may lead to inefficient resource utilization or missed delivery targets, MSO helps planners make better decisions and improve production performance.
MSO relies on high-quality data, clear routines, and a short, execution-oriented planning horizon. It is intended for detailed short-term scheduling. For more long-term planning, other planning mechanisms such as capacity requirements planning, material requirements planning and master scheduling is recommended.
