This activity is used to make manual changes to part groups. Manual changes include:
By default all part groups created in Allowable Configuration are LRUs, except for part groups created on the root configuration slot of an aircraft assembly, an aircraft cannot be a LRU. To identify the part group as an SRU, you edit the part group and clear the Line Replaceable Unit option. You cannot design kit part groups as SRUs.
By default IFS Maintenix supports the following sensitive system types,
The affected sensitivities must have been assigned to the respective assembly in IFS Maintenix prior to exporting of configuration data, in order to assign/unassign it to the part group.
By default IFS Maintenix assumes that all parts are compatible with all other parts and that all part numbers can be installed on an assembly regardless of ehat tasks are completed or open on the assembly. This feature can be used to identify such parts which are incompatible along with their scope; Global or Assembly Position Type.
A part assigned to a Part Group which belongs to an Aircraft Assembly Class cannot have an incompatible part with an Assembly Position Type.
This feature can be used to change the inventory class of a part that is assigned to a part group or the inventory class of a part group. The allowed inventory class transformations are,
To execute the transformation, the Part must be selected from the Alternate Parts tab, which will then display the Change to Serial button. If multiple alternate parts are assigned to the part group, the transformation will be restricted.
To execut the transformation, the Part must be selected from the Alternate Parts tab, which will then display the Change to Track button.
To execute the transformation, the Change to Serial button must be selected from the Part Group detail page header.
To execute the transformation, the Part must be selected from the Alternate Parts Tab, which will then display the Change to Batch button. If multiple alternate parts are assigned to the part group, the transformation will be restricted.
At tranformation, the Unit of Measure (UOM) of the part will be same as the serial-controlled part by default.
This feature is used to assign the manufacturer when a new part is created. In a situation where a new manufacturer is concerned, the manufacturer must be created prior, through the Manufacturers page.
These changes are generally performed through Other Configuration Change Sources, apart from assigning manufacturer, for which the direction can also come with an IPC Change Source.
