Publish Change Source

Explanation

This activity is used to publish an approved change source in order to update the configuration baseline in IFS Maintenix. If the change source fails Publish, the status of the change source is PublishError. The changes that failed validation should be resolved on the part group and the change source should be published again.

In a situation where the configuration change source remains at Publish In progress and the Integration Status appears to be failed then navigate to the Failed Integration Messages to view the issue. Upon solving the technical issue, restart all to resume publishing.

Prerequisites

• The status of the change source revision must be ReadyForPublish.

System Effects

• The configuration baseline in IFS Maintenix is updated with valid changes.
• The status of the change source changes to PublishInProgress and eventually changes to either of the two following states:
  • Published, if all the changes to the configuration baseline are valid and were updated in IFS Maintenix.
  • PublishError, if some or all of the changes to the configuration baseline are invalid and were not updated in IFS Maintenix.
