Set Ignored Elements for Assembly

Explanation

This activity is used to set ignored elements for an IPC Document change source against an assembly. The user can identify any ignored elements related to the IPC document; such as chapters, sections, units, figures and items.

To set an ignored element list, the specific assembly must be selected in the Assembly tab and then select the Ignored Elements button. This will direct the user to the Ignored Element page. Note that ignored elements for an IPC document can be only set from the second revision.

To generate the ignored element list to be sent to the engineering service partner, you can select the revision on the Revision tab and select Generate Ignored Element List button or set the Generate Ignored Element List option to true when uploading the new IPC revision.

Prerequisites

• Baseline configuration data should be loaded from IFS Maintenix
• An IPC Document revision must have been previously sent to the Engineering Service Provider, accepted a change set and published to IFS Maintenix.

System Effects

• A file of the ignored element list for a linked assembly will be generated which can then be submitted to the Engineering Service Provider.
