Create Customer Order for Defense Contract Deliveries

Explanation

Use this activity to create a customer order for one or a selection of Defense Contract Deliveries. This is the quickest way to create the customer order(s) generating the shipment(s) of the items listed for the Defense Contract Order. The top section Defense Contract Order Deliveries represents the selected items for which the customer order link will be established. The Parameters section includes parameters to be used when creating a new Customer Order.

There are two options available, you can either create a new customer order or add a new defense contract delivery records to a customer order previously created for the same Defense Contract Order. To create a new customer order or add of an additional customer order line to an existing customer order can be done when an item record is connected to an activity and if the defense Contract Order is in status Active

Note: The customer order lines created for a new or existing customer order are automatically connected to the same project activity as the item record representing the Defense Contact Delivery.

Prerequisites

• A Defense Contract Order must exist including at least one item (Defense Contract Delivery).
• The item records selected must be connected to an activity related to the Project defined for the Defense Contract Order.
• The defense Contract Order holding the selected item records must be in status Active.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• A new customer order is created or else are additional customer order lines added to an existing customer order. Each customer order line is established with a connection to the same project activity as the corresponding item record representing the Defense Contact Delivery.
• The Defense Contact Deliveries are automatically pegged to the corresponding customer order lines created by this activity.
