Aggregation Table

[To Demand Planning]

Usage

Use this window to visualize and work with demands and forecasts of the aggregated periods. The window is accessed through the View menu. The data elements available in the table are:

Element Read/Write Description
Period/Groups Write This is where you set how many of the original periods will be aggregated into one period in this table (a new period that only exists in this table) . For example, if a monthly period version is selected in the demand plan, and the period or group is set to 3, the table will show the historical demand and the adjusted forecast in quarters (since there are 3 months in a quarter). Only numbers that are divisible by the original period version (number of periods per year) are visible in the list. (See the Define Period Version help file for additional information about period versions)
Groups/Total Write This is where you set the number of new periods that will be added together in the total sum. This amount is also the number of new periods that will be shown in the columns. The maximum number here will equal the number of new periods required to fill a calendar year. For example, if a monthly period version has been selected for the demand plan and Period/Groups element has been set to 3, given this, if you want the total sum for a year in the last row, you must select 4 since there are 4 quarters per year.
Green Read-only Here is the adjusted forecast of the part or group aggregated into the new periods defined by the Period/Groups element (which controls the amount of original periods added together) and the Groups/Total element (which controls how many of the new periods will be used for the sum or (last) row).
Yellow Read-only Here is the adjusted demand and system forecast for the part or group, aggregated into the new periods defined by the Period/Groups element (which controls the amount of original periods added together) and the Groups/Total element (which controls how many of the new periods will be used for the sum (last) row).

Any active selection in the table, the sum and average of the cells in the selection will be displayed in the status bar.

Fields

This window contains:

Rows: One row for each periodic value of the historical demand or adjusted forecast. The time interval extends from the first period having existing data to the last period of the forecast horizon. The labels are in the following format: YYYY-PP (where Y = year and P = period). Note that the number of periods per year will vary according to the value set for the Period/Groups element, and thus it will rarely be the same number as in the Forecast table
Columns: One column for groups/total sum, the number of columns is determined by the value in the Groups/Total field. If the Groups/Total field is set to 2, there will be 2 new periods (see above) in each column sum. The number of columns will run through the parts, historical + forecast length (as specified in the Demand Plan Server Setup window).
