Create Modification Snapshot

Explanation

This activity is used to create a snapshot of modifications applicable for the overhaul object at a shop visit. The snapshot will document modifications that have been applied during the visit, not performed during the visit, complied with at a previous time/visit, or not planned for the visit.

Modifications valid for the structure of the overhaul object (serials in the actual on log for the visit), both active and historical modifications, will be included in the snapshot. Only the last execution of the modification will be considered, i.e., if several inspections have been performed only the last inspection will be included in the snapshot. The modifications will be sorted into four predefined reporting categories as shown in the following table:

To create a modification snapshot, click New Snapshot in the Work Scope Completion/Modification Snapshot tab.

Modification snapshots are revision controlled, and the latest revision is set as the active snapshot. Entering remarks, adding manual entries, and transferring remarks to history can only be done on an active snapshot.

For the initial snapshot revision, any execution remarks entered on the historical modifications will be retrieved to the relevant snapshot entry. For subsequent revisions, remarks will be copied from the previous active revision to the new snapshot revision. If there is a new execution instance of the modification, e.g., another inspection has been performed, the remarks will be copied from history to the relevant entry on the new snapshot revision.

If needed, you can change the reporting category for a modification included on an active snapshot. This is useful when the preset reporting category does not reflect the changes at a shop visit. This functionality is not applicable for entries that have been added manually to the snapshot. When the reporting category is changed, the Original Reporting Category field, in the Modification Snapshots tab, will be updated with the initial category with which the snapshot entry was generated.

When a new revision of the snapshot is created:

• Enable the Delete previous revisions of the snapshot option in the New Snapshot dialog, if previous revisions of the snapshot are to be deleted when creating the new active revision. Note, that it is possible to delete non active snapshot revisions at any time by clicking Delete Non Active Snapshot Revisions in the Modification Snapshots tab.
• Enable the Copy manually changed reporting categories option, if the reporting category has been changed for one or more entries in the currently active snapshot revision, and these changes are to be included in the new revision. If this option is disable, modifications will be sorted based on predefined criteria.

Prerequisites

• The actual on log for the shop visit must be generated.
• One or more serials in the structure of the overhaul object must be assigned to modifications.

System Effects

• The modification snapshot is generated, and can be used to identify which modifications have been applied during the visit, not performed during the visit, complied with at a previous time/visit, not planned for the visit.
• If selected, all non active revisions of the snapshot will be deleted.
• Execution remarks can be entered or modified on the active snapshot. These remarks may also be transferred to the modification history once all events in the visit scope are signed off.
