Pipe System Structure

Pipe systems are the main equipment and the same as main pipelines in a facility. It’s the result of the initially calculated process design where all the main equipment is decided. These pipe systems are in a later phase of the design broken down into detailed pipe parts, segments or spools of a pipe system. An example is a pipe system with Object ID: PM-411-PA-001 which consists of pipe parts with Object IDs, such as 0025-DC-PM-411-L-0001-C2S1-W2 and 0080-DC-PM-411-L-0001-F1P1-W1. Both pipe parts belongs to the same pipe system PM-411-PA-001, but differ in size, pipe class, insulation type, heat tracing and sometimes service, e.g., they can serve as ventilation or drainage of the pipe system. This enables work and preventive maintenance to be monitored and planned by using a pipe system and all pipe parts within this pipe system.
