This activity is used when an object has to be hold from depreciation for a specified period. For example, if an object is undergoing a significant maintenance repair or object is pulled from service, you may need to stop the depreciation until the asset is back in production process.
Objects can be hold from depreciation using Objects Hold from Depreciation page or using the option Hold From Depreciation in Books tab in the Fixed Asset Object page.
In order to perform this activity, the object for which you want to hold depreciation must be connected to at least one book.
When you run the depreciation proposal/depreciation plan, the depreciation will not be calculated for objects that are on hold, such objects will have zero depreciation amounts for the respective period.
