You can defer a fault and sign off on the deferral with a deferral reference that does not require MOC Authorization or with a deferral reference for which the deferral request was approved by MOC. You can defer such a fault on the Task Details or My Work pages.
When you defer a fault with a deferral reference that does not require MOC Authorization, you first review decision support information about the deferral including any operational restrictions and performance penalties that apply to deferral of the fault, other open conflicting deferrals for the aircraft, and upcoming flights for the aircraft. Based on this information, you can decide whether to proceed with the deferral.
Once you are sure that you want to proceed with the deferral or in the event that MOC has approved the deferral request submitted, you must record the deferral action taken and sign the deferral.
