This activity is used to activate a maintenance program. Only one revision of a maintenance program can be active at any given time. If a revision of the maintenance program is already in the Active status, it will be set to the Obsolete status when you choose to activate another revision of the maintenance program. To set a maintenance program active, click the Set Active status option from either the Define Maintenance Program page or the Maintenance Programs page.
Note that it is possible to activate and use maintenance programs consisting of maintenance groups only having convenience tasks defined.
Serials can only be connected to active maintenance programs. When a new revision of a maintenance program is activated, all serials (that are not locked) connected to the old maintenance program revision will be reconnected to the new revision. If there exists locked serials connected to the old maintenance program revision, they will not be connected to the new revision of the maintenance program when it is activated. You must unlock a serial to be able to connect an active maintenance program to the serial.
