Modify Serial Cost

Explanation

Use this activity to change the inventory value and cost details of a specific serial of a part.

Prerequisites

• Parts must be serial tracked. This setting is done in the Master Part/Part page.
• The part must have Inventory Part Cost Level set to Cost Per Serial. This setting is done in the Inventory Part page.
• Specified parts must exist in inventory.
• If you want specify cost buckets and cost sources in the cost details, they must have already been defined in the Cost Bucket page and Cost Sources page.

System Effects

The inventory value is updated, as a background job, for the part with the specified serial number. New inventory values can be viewed in the Inventory Part Unit Cost page. When the Inventory Value is changed, a revaluation transaction will be created for the specific combination of part number and serial number:

The INVREVAL+ will include all details where the value has increased, including the manually added details. The INVREVAL- will include all details where the value has decreased, including the lines where the new cost has been set to zero. Note: If you have parts in transit there will be INVREVTR+/- transactions used. If there are parts owned by the supplier (Supplier Consignment Stock), the transactions CO-INVREV+/- will be used.
