Create Multilevel Repair Shop Order

Explanation

You can create a new multilevel repair shop order for a specified part. When creating the shop order, select shop order type Repair and enable Multilevel Repair in the Settings and Options section.

Prerequisites

In order to create a multilevel repair shop order, creating multilevel repair shop orders must be enabled for the site.

In order to process a multilevel repair there are some additional requirements to be fulfilled:

If the parent part is serial-tracking-enabled:

  1. The quantity in the repair shop order must be 1.
  2. The parent part must not contain a structure in Fleet and Asset Management.

Note: In case the parent part is both serial and lot/batch-tracked, the generation of as-built structure does not consider the lot/batch number of the reserved parent part. Here the as-built structure is generated by selecting the records with the highest as-built revision number for the same parent serial. This is required to get the latest as-built structure for a serial where the lot/batch number of the parent has been changed due to some reason.

If the parent part is not serial-tracked but lot-tracked:

  1. All the parent parts must be reserved from a single lot/batch.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the system creates a new multilevel repair shop order for the selected part. When this happens, the system creates material requirements for the parent part and any existing components the respective repair structure alternate as non-consumable materials. All the consumable components that exist in the repair structure alternate are excluded when creating a multilevel repair shop order.
