Enter Classification Criteria

Explanation

This activity is used to define or edit basic data for classification criteria for failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA). A classification criteria is a category of failure effects that require special attention for legal, regulatory, safety, or other reasons. For example, a thermostat is essential to the operation of a heater unit. Therefore, a failure effect related to the thermostat might receive a class criteria value of critical. The unit might also have a heat shield that prevents the customer from being burned while looking at the thermostat. A failure effect related to the heat shield might receive an class criteria value of safety.

You may create new classification criteria and change existing ones as appropriate. The system displays them but does not use them for processing.
