This activity is used to display a chart that shows risk priority numbers (RPN) and severities for selected structure or routing alternates or FMEA functions. RPN is calculated based on severity rankings, occurrence rankings and detection rankings for effects, causes respectively controls.
The Design FMEA Analysis page is used to display data for structure alternates, the Process FMEA Analysis page is used to display data for routing alternates and the FMEA Function Analysis page is used to display data for FMEA functions. It is possible to filter which alternates or functions to display depending on different parameters. Use the view selector to change if the data should be displayed as a box matrix, a list or a table. To display data in a chart, choose the box matrix view. The chart is divided into quadrants. Alternates or functions with the highest RPN and highest severity appear in the upper right quadrant. Those with the lowest RPN and lowest severity appear in the lower left. Click on the alternate or function to view more detailed information.
This activity requires the existence of at least one structure or routing alternate. This alternate must be associated with at least one FMEA function, failure, cause and effect.
As a result of this activity, the system displays a chart that shows RPNs and severities for the selected structure or routing alternate or FMEA function.
