Set Structure Component as Lot/Batch Origin

Explanation

Use this activity to set a connection between a parent part and one of its components.

Prerequisites

• A structure alternate in tentative status must exist.
• To inherit the Lot/Batch number, the Lot/Batch Tracking list must be set to Lot Tracking for the parent part in Part/General tab.
• To be used in Production Schedule backflush method Immediate must be selected.
• To be used in Production Schedule reporting points cannot be used at the same time.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the parent part will inherit the lot/batch number from the component with Lot/Batch Origin selected. Reserve and issue could only be done from one lot only (for the selected component).

Note: When selecting the Lot/Batch Origin the Expiration Date Origin will automatically be selected.

Note: This value will be inherited to the order, where it will be editable.
