Create Corrective and Preventive Action
Explanation
This activity is used to create a new corrective or preventive action (CAPA).
A corrective action is an action to eliminate the root cause of a problem that
has caused one or several non conformances. A preventive action is an action
that is taken to prevent a problem from occurring.
A CAPA can be created in different ways. To create a CAPA from the:
- From the Corrective and Preventive Action page:
Click the new command, enter information about the new CAPA and click Save.
- From the Corrective and Preventive Actions page:
Click the new command, enter information about the new CAPA and click
Save.
- From the New Corrective and Preventive Action
assistant: Enter information about the CAPA in the
Description step in the assistant. Either click Finish
or proceed with the next steps in the assistant in order to add additional
information before finshing.
- From a non conformance report (NCR) on the Non Conformance Report page:
Click Create CAPA in the NCR header or in the Corrections
section.
- From a business object on the page for the business object using the
New Corrective and Preventive Action assistant: Click
Create CAPA in the Attatchments section on the
Corrective and Preventive Actions tab to access the
assistant. Enter information about the CAPA in the Description
step in the assistant. Either click Finish or proceed with
the next steps in the assistant in order to add additional information
before finshing.
Prerequisites
- An NCR must exist in order to create a corrective action from an NCR.
- In order to create a new CAPA from a business object, the specific business object must
have been configured on the
Object Connections
page as NCR aware by a system administrator.
- There are no prerequisites to create a standalone CAPA.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a corrective and preventive action in
the Created status is created.
