This activity is used to create and manage matrix position structures. Each matrix position structure can be connected to multiple companies. By arranging positions into a hierarchical chart, you can define distribution of responsibility within the organization. Access rights, default jobs, export groups, and other data can be linked to a position. This allows for a quick and easy management of employees through the position assignment. It is important to note that matrix structures can encompass multiple companies, allowing for more complicated organization setups.
Highest ranking positions should be placed at the top, with subordinate positions added to their respective superiors. That will create a chain of authority that has an impact on many parts of the IFS Cloud, such as employee assignments or data access.
Each position can have multiple subordinate positions, but only one superior.
To view valid positions by date, indicate a date using Data Valid On function at the top of the page. By default, only active positions on a certain date will be visible. The option Valid Positions as at User Date will determine if you are able to view invalid positions as well.
Select the Expand option and select a position. Use General section to edit general position details and create new positions. To display a position, select it from a graphical object structure. To add a new position, select its direct superior and select New Position option. If the position is not supposed to have any superiors, select the structure name at the top of the graphical object structure.
In order to perform this activity, a matrix structure has to be registered in the system.
