Grant Supervision Through Position Assignment

Explanation

This activity is used to assign employee a supervising position that has access rights defined for it.

Depending on your intentions, this activity can be performed in two ways:

To manage supervision from the supervisor's perspective (control access of one supervisor over many units)

Navigate to Employee File. Select Employment Information and then select Assignments. Add a new record in Organization section. In the Organization field, enter the identifier of the organization unit to which you want to assign the employee. In the Position field, enter the identifier of the supervising position you want to assign to the employee. If Primary option is selected, this will become employee's primary position. Every employee can have only one primary position assigned. In the Assignment Type field, you can specify the intended amount of involvement that the employee will have in the organization unit, e.g., full time, part time. You can leave Role and Role Name fields blank. Indicate the validity period of the assignment.

Note: This supervision setting extends only to the supervisor's organization unit. If you want to extend this supervision over subordinate organization units, go to Supervisor - Access Setup, locate the access definition, select the Include Subordinates option, and save the change.
