Create Procurement Clause Connection Rules

Explanation

This activity is used to create rules combining connect procurement clause phrases and source line parameters. The objective is to set up the rules that system follows when choosing the set of procurement clause phrases for a source line.

Available source line parameters are Site, Part, Supplier, Commodity Group 2, Project, Sub Project and Activity. If you need to add a procurement clause phrase for all parts bought for a certain project, you can create a new record with the pre-defined phrase and enter the relevant project in the project column. If it is required to further narrow down the phrase connection to a certain part bought only for that project, you have to define a rules line specifying both project and part.

When generating phrases for a source line, system will match source line parameters against the rules defined in this activity by considering.

1. Empty parameters in a rule line as any value.
2. All parameters in a single rule line are connected with an AND operator.

Prerequisites

• A procurement clause phrase must exist.
• If a rule requires part connection, a master part must exist.
• If a rule requires site connection, a site must exist.
• If a rule requires supplier connection, a supplier must exist.
• If a rule requires commodity group 2 connection, a commodity group must exist.
• If a rule requires project connection, a project must exist.
• If a rule requires sub project connection, a sub project must exist.
• If a rule requires activity connection, an activity must exist.
