Enter Characteristics

Explanation

Use this activity to link the purchase part to a characteristic template, as well as to specify a corresponding attribute value for the characteristic code. It is possible to add, update, and/or delete characteristics. Purchase parts can have variable characteristic codes and discrete characteristic codes connected to them. Also templates which have variable characteristic codes and/or discrete characteristic codes can be connected to purchase parts.

Prerequisites

• The characteristic codes must be entered in the Part Characteristic page.
• The characteristic templates must be entered in the Part Characteristic Template page.

System Effects

The characteristics of the purchase part are entered. It is possible to query for the purchase part using the defined characteristics.
