Create Project

Explanation

Use this activity to create a project. A project can either be newly created or copied from an existing project.

To create a project, go to New Project page. Turn on the Copy Existing Project slider switch to copy the project from an existing project. Then the New Project assistant page will appear. Enter an ID in the Project ID field. The field can be left empty if any applicable project ID generation rules have been set up in the Project ID Generation Rules page. If you would like to enable project access for your project, turn on the Project Access On slider switch. Provide other project information and save the record.

A project can be created from the Projects overview page as well. Go to Projects overview page and click on the + icon. Provide basic information and Save the record. Click on New Project action command on Projects overview page to create a project through the New Project assistant page.

Prerequisites

• A company should exist.
• A calendar should exist.
• The project manager should be registered as a person.
• If you want to connect a customer, that should be predefined.

System Effects

• A project is created, and you can start creating a project structure with subprojects, activities, and tasks.
• The project is in the Initialized status.
• If project access was disabled, all users in the system will have access to all parts of the project.
• If project access was enabled, the project manager will always have access to all parts of the project. The sub project managers will always have access to their own sub project and the sub project structure beneath.
