Delete Activity

Explanation

There are two ways of deleting an activity. If the activity has any connected objects, the action command Delete Activity is selected, otherwise the Delete button is used if the activity is empty (i.e. no objects are connected to it). It is possible to delete more than one activity at a time in Activities and Project Scope and Schedule/ Activities.

Deleting an activity prompts the deletion of its connected objects. If it is not allowed to delete a connected object, for example a task with reported progress, then the activity deletion is stopped through an error message.

If there is no manual override in the Date From and Date To fields in the Resource Planning/ Employee Allocation tab for an employee allocation (that has been connected either on the project or subproject level), the Earliest Start and Latest Finish dates of the last remaining activity will be the validity of that employee allocation. This will then prevent the deletion of this activity since the employee allocation will not have any start and finish dates. The system will only allow the deletion of this last remaining activity if values for the Date From and Date To fields are given.
