Enter Sales Price Group

Explanation

This activity is used to view, modify, or enter sales price groups for grouping price lists of parts with similar characteristics. For example, if a group of parts uses the same sales price lists, you can connect these price lists to the same sales price group. The task of creating new sales price groups is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

Every sales price list must be linked to a sales price group. There are two types of price lists, unit-based sales price lists and part-based sales price lists, depending on the price group type. Part-based sales price lists are based on sales part base prices. You can enter different quantity intervals for a sales part with different prices by using sales part base prices, or sales part rental base prices, and different offsets for those intervals. Rental prices can only be handled on a part-based sales price list. A unit-based price list is used for sales parts that are sold by units of measure. No sales part numbers are specified on a unit-based sales price list. Prices are entered for different unit intervals. Unit-based price lists can, for example, be used for paint that has different sales part numbers for different colors, yet all have the same price.

You can define more than one price lists for a sales price group. When connecting a price list with a specific customer, you can connect only one price list per price group. For example, if you defined several price lists for paint, and connected all of them to a single sales price group, Paint, you could only select one of those price lists to connect to a customer. Multiple price lists can be connected to a customer, but only if each price list is in a different sales price group. Likewise, two different customers can be linked to two different price lists that are in the same sales price group. For example, you may have several different sales price lists for paints, each of which is in the Paint sales price group, and the two customers could be linked to this same price group, but to different price lists.

You are only allowed to enter a configured sales part in a sales price list defined for part-based sales price groups.
