Generate and Print/Reprint an Aviation Part Certificate
Explanation
This activity is used to generate and print an aviation part certificate
in-house for a component or aircraft. A part certification form may be generated
after a maintenance action such as a shop visit for an aircraft, an engine overhaul
or component repair is completed.
The printed part certificate can be authorized by either manually or digitally
signing the document. If the paper format is used, the authorized certificates
can then be scanned and stored in IFS Document Management (i.e., using the Connected
Objects feature). When scanning the document be sure to save it in PDF format
if you want to store it in IFS Document Management.
Depending on your workflow, a part certificate can be generated from the
following pages by clicking the option Print Part Certificate.
- Manage Maintenance Order
- Maintenance Order History
- Complex Assembly Work Order
- Active Work Orders
- Execute Work Order
- Work Task/Returns
- Execute Work Task/Report Materials
- Historical Work Order
- Historical Work Orders
- Shop Order Part Certification
Following is a description of the information that can be entered in each
assistant step.
Step 1 - Approval Details
- Enter the valid approval type. The current user's ID is displayed automatically
in the Approver ID field if he or she is defined as a valid approver.
Enter the valid form type to use under the selected approval. The revision
of the form type is displayed automatically. You can change the revision
if necessary. Enter the required manufacturer and manufacturer's part number
in the relevant fields.
- By default, the type of certificate approval reference is set to
Repair Agency Claimed Certificate Number and cannot be changed. The
certificate approval reference number will be the approval certificate number
you have defined in basic data, i.e., in the Approvals Per Maintenance
Organization page. The default value cannot be changed.
Step 2 - Work Performed
- Enter the ID of the customer who will receive the certificate. Note:
If a customer is connected to the maintenance or work order, the customer's
ID will be displayed automatically. Select the appropriate work status for
the part.
- Enable the Use NCAGE Code option if you want the NCAGE code of
the part manufacturer to be used on the part certificate instead of the
manufacturer's code. Enter any additional information on the work performed
in the Remarks field. Enter any additional information to supplement
other textual descriptions in conformance type documents.
- You can register information on any technical documents that were used
for the work in the Maintenance Document Data area.
- If more than one-part certificate has been generated, the tracking number
of the previous part certificate is shown in the Tracking No field.
This value cannot be changed. You can choose to attach the previous certificate(s)
to the part certificate that is being generated. To do this, enable the
option Latest Form or All Previous Forms. Note that the relevant
Form Format must have first being selected.
Note:
To set a default document class to use when storing XML and PDF files for
part certificates in IFS Document Management, open the Object
Property page in System Definitions. Search
for the property name PART_CERT_DOC_CLASS and, enter the
required document class in the Property Value field.
Step 3 - Part and Compliance Details
- Enter the valid regulation code to use on the part certificate in the
Airworthiness Regulation Code field. The drop-down contains a list
of values valid for the selected part certification form type.
- If the Dual Release option is enabled, it indicates
that this is a dual certificate. This option will be enabled or disabled,
based on the predefined setting in the Airworthiness Regulation
Codes per form type page.
- In the Release Statement field,
the release statement defined in Airworthiness Regulation Codes
per Form Type page is retrieved automatically for the selected
airworthiness regulation code type. This text can be changed if needed.
- If the work was performed in compliance with an airworthiness directive,
enter the number of the directive in the Airworthiness Directive No
field. If the work was performed in compliance with a service bulletin,
enter the number of the bulletin in the Service Bulletin No field.
- Enter the internal identification number that is assigned to the selected
serial in an airline's inventory in the Airline Stock No field. In
the International Commodity Code field, enter the six-character code
used to specify the classification and description of the part or material
item per harmonized agreements on tariff commodity codes.
- You can enter information on any restrictions to adhere to when using
the part in the Part Usage Restrictions field. In the Repair/Mod
Description field, enter a description of the repair or modification
that was performed on the serial. In the NAA Maintenance Requirement
Description field, enter a description of the maintenance that was performed
under the requirements of a foreign airworthiness authority. In the Airworthiness
Deviations area, several free-text fields exist to enter information
on any deviations from the type design or customer work orders.
Step 4 - Print Options
- Enable the Print Part Certificate Form option to print the part
certificate once generated. If you want to print CRS documentation (Work
Carried Out/Canceled) which is only applicable for maintenance orders, enable
the relevant options found in the Print Documents area.
To reprint a part certificate, open the relevant page, search for the maintenance
order or work order, and then click the option Reprint Part Certificate.
