This activity is used to release the parts to ship back to the customer without performing any repair. This activity is mainly applicable for CRO repairs created from heavy maintenance where part provisioning rule is set to Exchange in the service contract. It means that the customer or a supplier nominated by the customer has already or will be sending the parts from a rotable pool to be installed in the heavy maintenance object structure. Therefore, the delivery address of the customer order shall be of a nominated supplier.
The preferred repair order type is selected from the Repair Order Type field. When Ship Back is selected, Release to Shipment command will be available instead of Release to Repair. A customer order should be connected to the CRO to be released to shipment.
