Create Work Task Material from Heavy Maintenance Returns

Explanation

Heavy maintenance returns may need to be repaired or replaced based on different part provisioning rules defined for part/part groups in the service contract and may need to be installed back at the vehicle. Create Repair and Material Lines assistant can be used to create component repair order lines to facilitate the repair of parts, work task material lines to facilitate installation of parts and link repair line to material line when the same part is required to be installed after repair.

To create a material demand for the returned part, specify an installation work task number. The list of value contains all the tasks connected to the same work order. To create a material demand in an existing maintenance material requisition, specify maintenance material order number as well.

You can enable Group Material option to create a single material demand for multiple return lines. Grouping is done based on part number, condition code part ownership, installation task number, maintenance material order number and material line number.

Note: If a work task material is already connected to the selected return line, no new material demand is created.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new work task material line is created from the heavy maintenance return.

If the returned part is to be repaired, material line ownership is set to return line ownership. If repair order type is Repair Shop Order, Work Order, Disposition Shop Order or External Service Order, work task material line is connected to CRO repair line and Dispatch Info of the CRO repair line is updated. If repair order type is Ship Back, created material line is not connected to the repair line as the material demand is not supplied by CRO repair line.

If the returned part is to be replaced and the part is provided by the customer, material line ownership is set to Customer Owned. Else, the material line ownership is set to Company Owned.
