Use this activity to define parameters for structures and routings. Typically a system administrator or equivalent person performs this optional task.
The Structure/Routing Update column defines for product structures, recipe structures, or configuration structures in Buildable status which attributes can be changed. You can change value at any time. Possible values are:
Value | Description |
Restricted | Only the attributes Operation No, Lead-time Offset, Promise Planned, Issue From Location, Drawing Position, Note Text, Print Unit, Line Sequence No, Lot/Batch Origin, Expiration Date Origin, Reserve/Issue Method, Reserve/Issue Planned Scrap, Issue Overreported Qty and Exclude from as built can be changed. Changes to document texts, component work guidelines and configuration rules on the structure alternate, structure components, and structure component work guidelines are also allowed. This is the default value. |
Enhanced | In addition to the attributes that can be changed when the structure update control is Restricted, the attributes Qty Per Assembly, Component Scrap, Scrap Factor, Consumption Item, Phantom Consumed, and Charged Item can also be changed. |
Simplified | In addition to the attributes that can be changed when the structure update control is Enhanced, structure lines can be added or deleted. |
The Structure/Routing Update column also defines which attributes that can be changed for routings in Buildable status. You can change the value at any time. Possible values are:
Value | Description |
Restricted | The routing attributes Operation No, Work Center No, Mach Setup and Run Times, Labor Class, Labor Setup and Labor Run Factor, Factor Unit, Outside Operation Item and Operation Usage Factor are not allowed to change. Changes to configuration rules on the routing alternate, routing operation, routing operation work guidelines, and routing operation tools are also allowed. This is the default value. |
Enhanced | All editable attributes can be changed but you are not allowed to add or delete a operation line. |
Simplified | In addition to the attributes that can be changed when the structure update control is Enhanced, operation lines can be added or deleted. |
The Structure Status Default column specifies the default status the manufacturing structure alternate should receive when you use the Create or Replace Component process. This field works in conjunction with the Structure/Routing Update column. You can change the structure status default at any time. However, this will only impact the default status of new structure alternates created after the changes have been made. Possible values are:
Value | Description |
Tentative | Default. This value is allowed for all Structure Update values. |
Plannable | This value is allowed for all Structure Update values. |
Buildable | This value is allowed only if the Structure Update attribute is Simplified. |
The Archive Recipe column specifies the default status the recipe structure alternate should use when the alternate is saved. Possible values are:
Value | Description |
Never | Default. A recipe alternate will never be archived when the alternate is saved. |
Always | All alternates versions will be kept in Archive Versions as soon as a recipe alternate is saved. |
Ask | When a recipe alternate is saved a question appear and ask if the actual version of the recipe should be saved in Archive Versions. |
No of Decimals in Recipe Structure field defines the number of decimals that should be visible in the recipe structure's quantity field.
The Enter by option define the default quantity of each component. Possible values are:
Enter By | Enter Quantity of Component as |
Qty Weight UoM | the quantity needed of the component in the Weight UoM of the alternate, to produce the Batch Size by Weight of the alternate. |
Weight Share | the percentage of each component relative to the Batch Size by Weight of the alternate. |
Parts by Weight | the relative proportion of each component to produce the alternate. |
Qty UoM | the quantity needed in the unit of measure of the component, to produce the Batch Size by Weight of the alternate. |
Qty per Assembly | the quantity needed of the unit of measure of the component, to produce one parent part.* |
