Use this activity to enter the limits for the counting functionality in the site. The limits are entered per site and are valid for all parts on the specified site.
The limits that can be entered are either based on the difference in value or the difference in quantity. The amount limit, entered in the Max Counting Difference Amount field, is compared to the value of the parts with a counting difference. The other limit, entered in the Max Counting Difference Percentage field, is a percentage of the quantity on hand. The difference divided by the quantity on the location is to be compared to this limit. The validation to these limits will be formed if the quantity counted is either below or above the system quantity.
Example:
Quantity counted: 80
Quantity on location: 100
Counting difference:
20
Inventory value: 10
The value of the difference is 20 * 10 = 200. If the amount limit is less than 200, the counting will be rejected.
The counting difference in percent is 20%, meaning that (if the limit in quantity is less than 20%) the counting will be rejected.
It is enough if only one of the limits are passed in order to reject the counting result. If no limit is entered, no check will be performed when reporting the counting result.
If Freeze Stock on Counting Report option is selected, it will appear enabled by default on the Create Count Report dialog / Advance Section.
This activity has no prerequisites.
If at least one limit is entered for the site, all counting results are compared to those. If they are not within the limit, the result receives the Rejected status and must be manually approved or recounted.
