Enter Code Part Values

Explanation

Use this activity to enter, change, and view the code part values within a code string for free code parts B - J. The Code Part Values page is divided into tabs, one tab for each code part. The tabs are available depending on the code parts that are used in the company. This task, which is mandatory if code parts other than the account are being used, is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

Code part tab names are defined in the Define Code String page. You cannot delete or change the identity of a free code part that has postings. You can limit the period in which a free code part can be used.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• The company must exist in IFS Financials.
• The names of the free code parts used in your company must be entered in the Define Code String page in IFS/Accounting Rules.
• To be able to enter information in the tab, the Code Used field in the Define Code String page must be selected.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• The code part values can be used in postings that are created in the various components in IFS.
