Scrap FA Object

Explanation

This activity is used to scrap a fixed asset. The scrapping of fixed assets is normally done using the FIxed Asset Object or Fixed Asset Objects page, but if you want to scrap a fixed asset when carrying out the fixed assets physical counting process, it is also possible to do it using the Register Object Physical Count Result page.

Prerequisites

Before you scrap an object, the following must have been completed:

• The status of the object(s) to be scrapped must be Active.
• The Scrap Object operation can be performed if the compensation is zero (0).
• A voucher type for which the function group is A and the ledger selection is GL, Affect IL must exist and it must not be connected to a book.
• If you want to use the Register Object Physical Count Result page to perform this activity, the count status of the object to be scrapped must be Missing.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the object status is altered to Scrapped  and the Disposal Date field in the Fixed Asset Object page will be changed by the scrap date . The disposal date (scrap date) of the object cannot be before the latest acquisition event date of the object. A voucher is created with postings in connection with scrapping.
