Enter FA Pre-posting

Explanation

Use this activity to enter pre-posting information and depreciation percentage distribution for a fixed asset.

If you want to distribute the depreciation, enter a depreciation distribution ID with a valid from date on on Pre-posting tab. Enter combination of code part values and percentages based on which the depreciation should be distributed. The total value of the percentages entered must always equal to 100%. Note: In order to generate postings make sure that you have set up pre-posting on Posting Control page for FAP5 posting for the code parts used in depreciation distribution.

Prerequisites

Before information can be entered on Pre-posting tab, the following must have been completed:

• The object type must be Normal, Not Depreciable, or Expensed.
• The code part values must have been entered. This is done on Code Part Values in IFS/Accounting Rules.
• The posting control information must have been entered on Posting Control in IFS/Accounting Rules.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the pre-posting information can be used when transactions are created by the system.
