This activity is used to create a post maintenance check (PMC) definition. PMC definitions have revision and status handling enabled. Only one revision of the PMC definition can be active at a point in time. When a new revision is activated the current active definition will be set to obsolete.
Once the PMC definition is created you can assign parts and part revisions to it. This will determine for which serials the PMC definition will be applicable. Post maintenance intervals should be defined for each of the assigned parts. A part can be connected to more than one PMC definition. This gives the opportunity to define different post maintenance intervals for serials with the same part number. These details are required in order to activate and use the PMC definition. In addition, you can connect task cards to the PMC definition, set up the order in which the task cards are to be performed, and define sign off requirements for the definition.
PMC definitions can be connected to interval maintenance, convenience tasks, life limits, condition limits, fault functions, faults, and modifications reported against the part revision on the definition. When the maintenance event is finished, post maintenance check events will be generated for the relevant serials based on the given intervals. The generated events will automatically receive the task cards, subtasks, resources, material, sequencing, and sign off requirements that are defined on the PMC definition.
Documents can be connected to the PMC definition via Documents in the Attachments. When a PMC definition is deleted, the connection to the document will be removed. If there is a need to delete the document itself, this must be done manually using IFS/Document Management.
