Balance Demand
Explanation
This activity is used to balance demand for receiver
sites, when the available demand from the receivers are more than the supply.
When the allocation is a single source of supply, that is dedicated to a number
of receivers, the demand is balanced, by proportional distribution of the
desired quantity to allocate at source to each receiver site.
Prerequisites
- The total demand needs to be greater than the
planned quantity.
System Effects
- The system will adjust all allocation lines to
make sure that the total quantity to allocate is distributed in a
proportional fair way. The calculation can be given as follows: Allocated
Quantity = (Initially Allocated Qty / ∑ Initially
Allocated quantity ) * Desired Qty to Allocate.
