Create SSCC for Handling Unit

Explanation

This activity is used to create a Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) for a handling unit of a shipment or a shop order. The created SSCC will be displayed on the SSCC field in the handling unit row.

The SSCC is printed on the handling unit label, handling unit content label and shipment handling unit label. It is also possible to send the SSCC using the EDI message service.            

Prerequisites

• At least one handling unit type needs to be defined.
• When creating SSCC automatically for a handling unit, or the entire shipment, the company prefixes and extension digits for each handling unit type should be pre-defined. Also the Generate SSCC option should, in some scenarios, be enabed for the handling units that should have SSCC created. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an SSCC is created for a handling unit.
