The procedure below is part of a number of procedures that might be needed to complete the registration of a purchased or manufactured inventory part. These describe how a characteristics template is connected to a particular part and how to enter relevant data into it. Characteristics can be dimensions, colors, or other specific traits. Furthermore, you can connect variable or discrete characteristics to the template. For manufactured inventory parts, the characteristics can be used for sequencing in Constraint Based Scheduling in IFS/Manufacturing.
When characteristics have been entered, it is possible to query for parts with specific characteristics using the Find Part by Characteristics. It is also possible to use the Inventory Part Characteristics page.
Additional attributes to the inventory part are entered.
