Enter Standard Names for Parts

Explanation

Use this activity to enter a standard name for a part. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

The functionality has been designed to facilitate a uniform denomination of parts in all languages used.

If the activity is used to create a standard name, Part Standard Names page can be used. If the activity is used to connect the standard name to a part, Standard Name in the General section in the Part page can be used.

Prerequisites

• ISO languages must be defined.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• The standard name will appear in the List of Values at the registration of standard name for a part in the Part page.
• If the part is used in a context other than the usual context and the language is set, the standard name in this language is used if it is connected to the part.
