Print Serviceability Tag

Explanation

This activity is used to order and print a serviceability tag report for a part which can either be a serial part or a non-serial part.

In the Aviation industry it is a requirement that all components and assemblies which are not installed in a structure are accompanied with a tag that clearly identifies the component or assembly and its current status. This tag, referred to as a Serviceability Tag, provides detailed information on the status of the object and its origin. If it is a serial object, the serviceability status is automatically determined by the system using the operational status and operational condition of the serial. Therefore,

If it is a non-serial object, the Print Serviceability Tag dialog will open and you need to manually enter the valid serviceability status for the non-serial. Once printed, the serviceability tag should accompany the relevant component back to inventory or when kept in a facility as an uninstalled object (i.e., without a parent part).

The serviceability tag can be printed at the time a serial/non-serial is moved to inventory, when reporting the arrival of a serial/non-serial into inventory, when moving into a single location or scrapping from inventory stock, when splitting a purchase order receipt into serials, when placing in a facility without a parent part (i.e., uninstalled serial) and when receiving an MRO object. You can also manually initiate the ordering and printing of the serviceability tag from several places. The manual process is described in this activity. For all other instances where the serviceability tag can be printed, refer the relevant activity descriptions.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, the serial should not have the Contained current position.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the serviceability tag report is printed with detailed information on the selected component or assembly. The serviceability tag report can accompany the component to inventory when returning goods and so on and so forth.

You can run Print Serviceability Tag dialog in following components: Work Order, Inventory, Purchasing, Vehicle Information Management, Complex MRO, Component MRO, Shop Order Salvage Part and Receive Shop Order

In the Serviceability Status list, select the relevant serviceability status of the part. If multiple records are selected where both serials and non-serials objects are included in the selection, the serviceability status you enter will only be valid for the non-serial parts. For serial parts the system will determine the relevant status based on the current operational status and operational condition of the serial
