This activity is used to add a serial and/or lot/batch tracked component to the parent serial or lot/batch no in which it has been assembled during manufacturing.
To add components to the shop order tracked structure by barcode:
In the Add Tracked Structure Component by Barcode dialog, you can filter to only consider components connected to a specific operation by entering an operation number in the Operation field in the Shop Order section. When the dialog is opened from Shop Floor Workbench, the selected operation is entered by default. If an operation has been entered, the Complete option will indicate Yes when all components connected to the selected operation has been added to the selected parent, else it will indicate Yes when all shop order components has been added to the parent.
In the Parent section you can identify the parent part by scanning a barcode containing either the inventory barcode ID, or if the part is serial tracked, the serial number, and if the part is lot/batch tracked, the lot/batch number. If the dialog is opened from Operation Guide, the selected parent is entered by default.
In the Component section you can identify the component to add by scanning a barcode containing either the inventory barcode ID, a serial or lot/batch number. The logic will primarily validate the barcode value against the inventory barcodes, if no unconnected component with this barcode ID exist, the logic will instead validate against the serial or lot/batch numbers for the unconnected components. If the scanned barcode value matches more than one unconnected component serial or lot/batch number, an error will be raised and you must manually pick the correct component record from the list. Click Add to assign the selected component to the selected parent.
To manually add a component to a parent serial or lot/batch part:
The component will be added to the selected parent in the shop order tracked structure. When the parent is received to stock, an as-built record will be created for the parent containing the added component.
