Configure Shop Order Settings
Explanation
This activity is used to configure settings related to shop orders.
On the Parameters for Supply Chain and Manufacturing page:
- Auto Avail Check of Shop Order enables the possibility to
order an availability check when releasing shop orders and when
reserving shop order material, regardless the setting on the inventory
part.
- Create SO in Status Planned controls whether the default
value in the Site page should be set to create shop orders
in planned status.
- Shortage Handling controls whether the shortage handling
functionality for inventory parts should be enabled in the system. Shop
order material lines are shortages listed when a reservation cannot be
fulfilled as requested.
On the Site/Manufacturing page, General
tab:
- Use Current Revision for Past Due Supplies controls whether
shop order requisitions and shop orders created with a start date in
past due should use the revision buildable on the creation date rather
than the revision valid on the start date. This is applicable when
creating supplies manually and also when supplies are generated from
planning functions.
- Create Shop Order in Planned Status controls whether shop
orders should be created in Planned, or Released status.
- Receive Shop Orders in Background controls whether shop
orders by default should be received using a background job, or online.
- Set Prototype Orders as Supplies, controls whether prototype
shop order by default should be considered supplies.
- Auto Build Tracked Structure controls whether tracked
structures should be created automatically when parent serial and/or lot
batch numbers are reserved and components are reserved/issued.
- Auto Close Shop Orders controls whether shop orders should be
created with Close Code set to Auto Close, or Manually
Close.
- Create Multilevel Repair Shop Orders controls whether repair
shop orders for multilevel tracked parts by default should be created as
multilevel repair shop orders.
- Unreserve on Partial Picking controls whether any remaining
quantity to pick will be unreserved when less than the full quantity is
reported as picked for a shop order pick list line.
- Calculate Cost and Progress in Background controls whether
project cost and progress update for shop orders will be handled as a
background process.
- Allow Reserve and Issue from Lot/Batches Outside the Batch
controls whether a batch balanced shop order should be allowed to auto
reserve and issue the balanced component from other lot/batch numbers
than the ones originating from the balanced supply order.
- Availability Control field in Shop Order Connected
Handling Units section. The part availability control to be applied
for parts connected to handling units connected to a shop order. When
receiving parts from a shop order into a handling unit this availability
control will be automatically applied to the parts until the handling
unit is completely filled, or manually disconnected from the shop order.
On the Inventory Part/Manufacturing page:
- Process Type field. The process type selected here will
automatically default to shop order requisitions and shop orders created
for this part.
- Close Tolerance field. This value will default to shop orders
created for this part.
- Adjust on Op Qty Deviation. This value will default to shop
orders created for this part.
- Over Reporting controls whether it should be allowed to
report shop order operations for this part with a quantity higher than
the operation quantity.
- Over Report Tolerance controls how much more than planned
operation quantity it should be allowed to report if over reporting is
allowed for the part.
- Lot Batch String field. The value entered here is added as a
prefix to lot/batch numbers generated for shop order requisitions and
shop orders for this part. All parts with the same value will share a
common number series.
