Connect Shop Order to Project Activity
Explanation
This activity is used to connect a planned shop order to a project activity.
To connect the shop order to an activity, click Project and then
Connect to Activity. Select the desired project activity in the
dialog.
Prerequisites
- Only shop orders in status Planned can be connected to an activity.
- The shop order start date and finish date must be within the start date
and finish date for the activity.
- The shop order cannot be connected to several activities - it is only
possible to connect a shop order to one activity.
- The shop order must have demand code Inventory Order, in other
words only ordinary shop orders and repair shop orders can be connected.
Any MRO-related shop orders like assembly, disassembly or disposition shop
orders cannot be connected manually to the activity.
- The project to connect to must be in status Approved or Started.
- The project activity must have status Planned or Released
to be available.
- The site of the shop order must be defined as an allowed site for the
connected project.
- The project code part may not already be pre-posted with a financial
project.
System Effects
- The shop order will be marked with the connected project/activity
- Pre-posting will be inherited from the project. As the shop order already
exists, it may already have pre-postings. If pre-posting on the code part
already exists, they will be replaced by the project pre-posting. If the
project pre-posting has no value for a code part then the existing pre-posting
on the object will remain unchanged. Also the project and activity sequence
will be posted.
- The shop order appears as a connection in the Project Info/Connections
form.
- The demand code for the shop order will be changed from Invent Order
to Project Inventory.
- The shop order will return planned committed, committed and used cost/hours
and/or progress when the connected activity runs the Refresh Activity Calculation.
