By installing a structure component you add a component that exists in the actual structure but not listed in the as-built structure, to the new as built structure. Since the component is already within the structure being repaired, material handling will not be necessary in this case.
Expand the tree structure and select the revision node of the parent part to which you want to install a component. In the Repair Actions section, click Install. Enter a part number, quantity, revision and a repair reason. You can select a new parent part revision and add a note if needed. Finally, click Apply or OK.
Note: If the component you are adding is serial-tracked, the quantity must be 1. You may add multiple lines for each serial component.
Multilevel repair shop order should exist with the parent part in the Reserved or Issued state.
As a result of this activity, the installed component will be added to the new as-built structure once the repair shop order has been received.
