This activity is used to replace the main component of one or several shop order material lines with alternate components. The system replaces the components according to the alternate component setup. You cannot manually pick alternate components.

The main component of the material line must have at least one valid alternate component with available quantity.
As a result of this activity, the main components will be replaced with the alternate components. When replacing a main component, the alternate component having the lowest sequence number will be considered first.
Note: The scrap component values on the Alternate Component will be fetched from its inventory part record rather than from the part it replaces.
