Reserve Handling Unit to Shop Order Material Line
Explanation
Use this activity to reserve a complete handling unit to a shop order material
line.
To reserve a handling unit, open the Handling Unit tab, select the
relevant handling
unit and click Reserve Handling Unit.
Prerequisites
- The shop order is in at least Released status.
- A handling unit with a quantity of the part to reserve attached exists
in inventory.
- The handling unit does not already have any reserved quantity.
- The handling unit does not contain mixed part numbers.
- The quantity available on the handling unit is higher than zero, but
not larger than the quantity remaining to reserve.
- If the shop order material line supply code is Inventory Order,
only the standard inventory is available for reservation.
- If the shop order material line supply code is Project Inventory,
only the project inventory of the project connected to the shop order is
available for reservation.
- The ownership and owner must be the same on the material line as on
the handling unit to reserve.
- The condition code must be the same on the material line as the handling
unit to reserve.
System Effects
- All stock records attached to the selected handling unit, or any of
its sub-level handling units will be reserved to the shop order material
line.
- If the shop order is in status Released, its status will be changed
to Reserved.
- If the shop order material line is in status Released, its status
will be changed to Reserved.
- When reserving a material line with a connected supply pegging, the
reservation will reduce the pegged quantity by the same quantity that was
reserved. However, if there is more than one supply pegged to the same demand
you will be notified to manually adjust the peggings before the reservation
can be performed.
