Define Operational Parameter
Explanation
This activity is used to define the operational parameters that will be used
to measure the utilization of serials. Operational parameters are used when
setting up maintenance plans and performing operational loggings. An operational
parameter can be used to indicate if the maintenance should be based on time
or cycles.
- When defining operational parameter, select Time Parameter option
if the operational parameter is to be related to the concept of Time
Since. Note that a time parameter can only be connected to one operational
parameter, from the parameters defined for a part number, at any given time.
- And select Cycle Parameter option if the operational parameter
is to be related to the concept of Cycle Since. Note that a cycle
parameter can only be connected to one operational parameter, from the parameters
defined for a part number, at any given time.
An operational parameter can also be defined with a valid formula. Formula
will only be used if the operational parameter is set to be Calculated
in the Operational Parameters
per Maintenance Group tab in Serial part
page.
- Operational parameter contained in the formula must be defined as valid,
and enclosed with brackets ('[' and ']') so that the system can identify
the operational parameter, for example, the parameter FLIGHTHOURS must be
defined as '[FLIGHTHOURS] in the Formula field. Note: An operational
parameter cannot be included in its own formula.
Note: An operational parameter cannot be deleted,
Prerequisites
To perform this activity, valid units of measure must be defined.
System Effects
- You can test the calculation of an operational parameter defined with
a formula.
- Operational parameters can be entered for serial parts and are defined
for all connected maintenance groups. One of these parameters must be defined
as the primary operational parameter.
- Operational parameters are used for measuring the utilization of a serial
that is connected to one or more maintenance groups.
- Maintenance plans can be defined.
