Connect Part to Production Line
Explanation
This activity is used to connect a part used in production schedules with one
or more production lines.
To connect a part to a production line on the Production Line
page, click the new command on the
Parts tab and select the part you want to connect.
You can also connect a part to a production line by adding the production
line to the part on the Production Line by Part
page. Click the new command in the Production Lines
section and select the production line you want to connect.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- The part has been created.
- The production line has been created.
- The schedule horizon must have been created before you can make a connection
between the production line and the production schedule part.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- A part is connected to a production line.
- The schedule percentage is set to 100% by default. When production
schedules are created by master scheduling (MS) and material
requirements planning (MRP), the demand quantities are divided by the
percentage specified for the part into the different line schedules.
