Transfer New Template Structure to Site
Explanation
This activity is used to initiate a new transfer of a top part revision
to a destination site. The transfer process creates the needed inventory parts,
manufacturing part revisions and manufacturing structure data.
Use the Transfer To SIte tab to view all sites
you are allowed to access which have the MRO Enabled
option enabled. You
can start transferring by selecting the sites and click Transfer
to Manufacturing.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that:
- The serial structure template has been created and transferred to the
temporary transfer table, and the structure must be in Active status.
- The top part has never been transferred to the site. The top part can be transferred to other sites previously.
- The user has access to the site.
- The site must have the MRO Enabled option enabled.
- A
default planner and manufacturing engineer must also be defined for the site
in IFS/Manufacturing Standards.
- A part transfer template of type VIM Template is defined in IFS/Manufacturing
Standards.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The system confirms the transfer of a top part revision (and all of
its level structures) to a site.
- For the top template part, its components and valid alternates, the
transfer process creates the following records: inventory part records for
'real' and position parts; inventory part revision records for 'real' and
position parts; and monolithic disassembly and assembly structures and
routings. Transfer process will also creates disposition type product
structures for all the position parts present in the structure.
- A template transfer history record is created, with a transfer
status that indicates when the transfer occurred and whether the transfer succeeded or failed.
- A template transfer log is created with any
errors, warnings, or informational messages created during the transfer.
- If modifications are defined in IFS/Fleet and Asset Management for parts
in the transferred structure, an MRO modification record is created for
each of the modifications and an MRO part modification record is also created
for each affected part.
