Define Business Object Actions

Explanation

This activity is used to configure Actions in Object Information dialog. Actions can be defined for the relevant logical unit on the Actions tab on GIS Object Configuration page.

Parameters define the target page to be opened when an action is executed. To populate the page with data, the defined parameters should be in correct format.

For an example: To enable Prepare Work Order page to be opened when coming from a work order in GIS map:

• In the Action Name field, enter Prepare Work Order.
• In the Page Name field, enter PrepareWorkOrder/Form.
• In the Parameters field, enter WoNo=[#WO_NO].

It is also possible to select how the actions should be shown in Object Information dialog.

• "Action" enables actions to be grouped together and shown in the section above the tabs in the dialog.
• "Link" enables the navigation on values in fields.
• "Link and Actions" enables both.

This task should be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

Prerequisites

Logical units (LU) should have been defined with value GisintConnections as a service name in Solution Manager/Configuration/Object Connections. This enables LU to be shown and selected from the List of Values in GIS Object Configuration page.
