Perform Capacity Requirements Planning
Explanation
This activity is used to start calculating the expected future workload
of machines, labor and production groups. You can perform CRP for one site
at a time or for all sites to which you have access.
- In the Site field, enter the site for which you want to run
CRP. Use the List of Values for accessible sites. If you leave the field
blank, CRP is run for all the sites to which you have access.
- Enable Stop CRP On Error if you want to stop the CRP process
when an error occurs.
- Enable Include MS Proposed Receipts, if you need to include
MS created receipts to the current CRP calculation.
- Enable Include MRP Requisitions, if you need to include MRP
requisitions to the current CRP calculation.
- Enable Include PMRP Requisitions, if you need to include PMRP
requisitions to the current CRP calculation.
- Enable Include CRP for Labor, if you want to calculate the
labor load for the selected site.
- Enable Recalculate Machine Capacity for Site, if you want to
calculate the work center resource capacity for the selected site.
- Enable Recalculate Labor Capacity for Site, if you want to
calculate the labor capacity for the selected site.
- Enter the date which you need to calculate the machine and labor
capacity data in the Machine and Labor Capacity Calculation to Date
field.
The calculation can either be started directly, or scheduled, and will be
performed as a background job.
Prerequisites
- The manufacturing plan from MRP or PMRP must already be complete.
- You must have entered the work centers you want to work with,
specified the unit of measure in which their capacity is measured, and
specified their actual capacity.
- You must have specified if operation scheduling is done with or
without parallel operations.
- You must have entered the labor classes you want to work with. When
Capacity Calculation Base is set to Individuals,
at least one person connected to the labor class on the site and that
person needs to be available for at least one day in the time interval.
- You must make sure the shop calendar is up to date. CRP makes sure
that the workload is planned for only those days included in the shop
calendar. Only workdays should exist in the shop calendar, so weekends
and holidays are not counted in CRP.
System Effects
- Machine workload per work center resource, load type, operation and
workday is calculated for the selected sources. The result in its most
detailed form can be displayed on the Machine Load Details
page.
- If Include CRP for Labor is enabled, the labor workload per
labor class, load type, operation and workday is calculated for the
selected sources. The result in its most detailed form can be displayed
on the Labor Load Details page.
