Connect Service
Contract to Maintenance Order
Explanation
This activity is used to connect a service contract to the maintenance order.
This is the service contract for the work scope requested by a customer.
A service contract may be connected to a maintenance order when creating
the order or until the order is released.
Note: If both a service contract and
a service quotation is connected to the maintenance order, the service contract
will not be applied to the service quotation that is to be sent to the customer.
Prerequisites
- A customer must be connected to the maintenance order. This customer
must be a valid customer on the service contract.
- The distribution type of the maintenance order should be Work
Order or Execution Logic Structure.
- The site of the workshop on the maintenance order must be a valid site
on the service contract.
- The maintenance order must be in the New, Initial
Scope Definition or Under Preparation status.
System Effects
- A service contract is connected to the maintenance order.
- The service contract will be used to find material ownership for the
material included on a maintenance order, based on the part provisioning
rules of the contract. For more information on setting ownership on material
demands, refer the activity
View Material Demands.
- When the maintenance order is released, the service contract will be
transferred and vehicle service lines included on the contract will be assigned
to the generated work orders and/or work tasks.
- If both a service contract and a service quotation is connected to the
maintenance order or a service contract is connected to the maintenance
order and a service quotation is connected to an included maintenance event,
the service contract will not be applied to the corresponding work orders
and work tasks. This is because in both instances the service quotation
is prioritized instead of the service contract.
